Austin, TX (March 13, 2014)- The music portion of this year’s SXSW Festival is in full swing, and so is Jimmie Vaughan. As one of the “live music capital of the world’s” original icons, Jimmie leant his guitar playing and vocals to Kimmel’s Cleto and The Cletones Band. The live taping took place in Austin’s Long Performing Arts Center, and included several other Texas mainstays. Appearances were made by The University of Texas faculty, students, local barbecue establishments, and Governor Rick Perry.

The Austin Music Awards took place at the Austin Convention Center last night, marking their 32nd anniversary. Jimmie performed at the awards show that has become a precursor to great success for many up and coming artists. Jimmie’s friend Gary Clark Jr was the recipient of top awards at the 2013 AMA’s before his Grammy win this year.

This weekend will conclude SXSW 2014, and Jimmie will perform at Lambert’s BBQ downtown Austin with Mike Flanigan B3 Trio. Closing out the week, on Saturday he will perform a secret show at long time friend Steve Wertheimer’s new club C-Boy’s Heart & Soul.
